Thoughts from IAYG

At the end of last year I took on the task of getting feedback from my team members. We had an eventful year where we made blankets for Syrian refugees and wrote personal letters to veterans. We also improved our public speaking skills with sessions conducted by Mihir Mankad. The members enjoyed getting to know and bond with a diverse group. They appreciated that people have fun while conducting serious discussions, where tremendous ideas brought up in the group

Most people mentioned that this year their public speaking skills improved tremendously. They specifically learned how to incorporate ethos, pathos and logos into peaking. They had not realized how much effort and work it takes to improve your public speaking. My teammates also enjoyed the impact of our community service. Beyond the group meetings the members used the skills they learned this year in writing speeches and at debate tournaments.

I look forward to the upcoming year.
