10-14-18 | Meeting Summary
Board Meeting: At this weeks board meeting, we opened up talking about the community service drive. We were thinking of pushing the deadline to next week to get more donations. Another idea that we came up with was to ask people to bring items to the social event. We decided that the social event will be the same as last years, minigolf, and will take place on the 11th or the 18th. A community event that we would like to do, is to volunteer at a food pantry, around Thanksgiving time, and/or to help out at cradles to crayons. This would likely happen during mid-late November. Another aspect that we would like to add to the meetings would be group discussions. These would address mainstream topics such as the Kavanaugh debate, Voting, Race, Sex, Gender, the Harvard Lawsuit, and more. One issue that we that came up between this meeting and last meeting, was a domain issue, where another group would like our domain name. In terms of branching out, we talked about getting our facebook group working again, as well as the possibility of staring an Instagram account. Lastly, we talked about breaking up into smaller groups during the meeting/discussion, so that more people can talk and feel more comfortable with one another.
Group Meeting:
-Confidence Discussion- encouragement through friends but they cannot be only complimenting, being the dissenting opinion, externally displaying confidence, “two types of people on sports field are trash talkers and silent actors” (confidence in abilities vs. confidence in responses), 100% in everything they do, self-belief, trusting your gut
-community service- more accountable on drives, food pantry visit on November 11 (near thanksgiving), cradles to crayons visit in future
-social- mini golf on November 25?
